Constructability Review

What Is It?

A constructability review is a review of the plans and specifications to check for buildability and bidability. The constructability review is often viewed as one of the services available, but not vital to the project.

How To

A constructability review requires a "fresh set of eyes" to look over the plans and specifications and submit comments on the plans. Someone new to the project will have the same perspective as the later contractors, and therefore, will generate useful constructability comments from that viewpoint. It is advantageous to use an individual with previous experience in the general contracting industry.
